ASP.Net: Ampersands in Web.Config

I recently had to store some values in a web.config file that contained ampersands (&). This didn’t work, causing a runtime error. (I’m guessing a more detailed error wasnt available as the web.config file wasnt parsed, meaning the value of the customerrors node was unknown?).

To fix this, I had to escape the ampersands, meaning & becomes &
